Sorana Cirstea a ratat calificarea in turul al doilea al turneului Premier de 700.000 de dolari de la Paris, fiind invinsa in runda inaugurala de catre Melanie Oudin. Americanca s-a impus cu un categoric 6-3, 6-0, echilibrul menţinându-se doar în primele şase game-uri. Apoi Oudin a făcut nouă puncte la rând! Este, totuşi, de remarcat că în acest meci Sorana, care e componentă a Team-ului GdF Suez, şi-a asumat foarte multe riscuri, ceea ce a fost pe placul spectatorilor. Romanian tennis player Sorana Cirstea qualified on Tuesday evening in the second round of the American Grand Slam tournament after defeating in the inaugural round the Japanese Ayumi Morita, a player placed in the best moment of her career, occupying the 69-th WTA position this week, the best position of her career. Sorana Cirstea beat the Japanese with the score of 6-1, 6-3, after 75 minutes of play. Sorana had some problems with her serve, managing a percentage of 38% at first service, but nevertheless she clearly dominated the Japanese, managing even 5 aces, compared to only one from the opponent. |

Australian Samantha Stosur used her big serve to overwhelm Romanian teenager Sorana Cirstea 6-3 6-2 in the semi-finals of the LA Championships on Saturday. In reaching her first final of the year, Stosur nailed seven aces and won 85 percent of her first serve points. |

 Romanian tennis player Sorana Cirstea (world no. 28) is set to meet Australian Samantha Stosur in tonight's semifinal at Los Angeles Womens Tennis Championships after defeating the polish player Agnieszka Radwanska on Friday, score 7-6(4), 1-6, 7-5.
In the quarterfinals, 13th-seeded Australian Samantha Stosur beat China's Zheng Jie, seeded 14th, score 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. |
